Boulder opal comes in so many different varieties.  I love them all, I work with them all, and personally collect them all. ( it helps that my fiancé is the boulder opal miner/lapidary)   We call this type of boulder in this ring a "picture stone".  Not only does it have magnificent color, but the ironstone matrix has formed an abstract picture.
